At Impact Health Psychology, we specialise in comprehensive and professional assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD. Led by Clinical Psychologist John Brownhill, our team follows the National Guidelines for Autism Assessment and Diagnosis (2018) to provide evidence-based, compassionate care.
Referrals can come from GPs, paediatricians, schools, or the NDIS—but self-referrals are welcome too.
Our Proven 3-Step Assessment Process
Step 1: Clinical Interview & Screening (60-90 minutes)
- In-depth discussion with the client or caregiver
- Screening questionnaires to tailor the assessment
- Functional Capacity Assessment of daily functioning
- Available via telehealth if preferred
Step 2: Specialised Autism Testing (2-3 hours)
- ADOS-2 Assessment: Structured observation through play and activities
- ADI-R Interview: Comprehensive clinical discussion with caregivers or individuals
- Evaluation of interoception and individual strengths
Step 3: Feedback & Report (60-90 minutes)
- Personalised discussion of results
- Detailed written report for NDIS, schools, or other support services
- Expert guidance on treatment options
- Telehealth option available

Understanding Interoception
Interoception is the ability to sense internal body states, such as hunger, fatigue, or stress. Difficulties with interoception can lead to behavioural outbursts and health issues. Our assessment includes interoception evaluation to provide a holistic understanding of individual needs and support.

Comprehensive Assessment & Report: $2,000 AUD
- Medicare rebates are unavailable
- Check with NDIS or private insurers for coverage
- If ASD is not indicated at Step 1, refunds are offered (minus $250 screening fee)
