Jenny Macintosh is a registered psychologist with over twenty years of experience in psychology and counselling. She has worked with individuals, couples and families from many different backgrounds and walks of life. Her approach is warm, understanding and empathic. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Psychology and Diploma in Education.
Jenny is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and also an associate member of the Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association.
Jenny has a passion for helping people improve their lives, supporting clients to be the best that they can be in a safe, supportive, respectful confidential and nurturing environment. She provides high quality professional psychological services that help clients address a variety of wellbeing issues including stress management, anxiety, depression, post- traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss including divorce and separation issues, low self-confidence and self-esteem, anger management, conflict and relationship difficulties, couples counselling, parenting and behaviour management.
Jenny works with a broad systems focus that is client-centred using specific therapeutic interventions tailored to the particular needs of the client. She has experience in a wide variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Jenny encourages clients to develop new perspectives in life, change negative thinking patterns and learn healthier ways of relating to self and others.
